I just started law school in a new place and haven't really made friends with people. A lot of people have already paired/grouped up but I haven't met anyone yet that I really have a lot in common with. I've always been a shy reserved person and making friends seems to take a bit longer for me but once I make them we're really close. I haven't had to make friends from scratch though since I don't how long.

I've been joining various school groups and trying to participate to put myself out there. Tonight there is a big party that I plan to attend but I'm basically going by myself. I don't plan to bring my boyfriend, the only person I really know here, since I'm afraid I'll use him as a crutch and he has to work anyway.

How should I go about being social and meeting people when I'm there all by myself? I don't want to stand out as being alone and I also want to use this opportunity to meet people I don't share classes with? Thanks.

I can sympathize with you. I have been a 'wallflower' all my life. The best that I have been able to do is just put myself out there.

It is very hard for me to initiate conversations, but being in a group always seems to lead to someone approaching and once that obstacle is overcome the rest, for me, is easy. The main thing as I am sure you realize is to be yourself, be natural and actually listen to what other people say.

Have no fear, just do it.

Good book. I found it very interesting. I tend to watch and listen more then most people, so I could relate to Charlie. I also thought it dealt with teen/young adult issues in a new way. I spotted some unrealistic holes in the story (like the kid being kind of adopted into having friends) but overall worth reading. Why? What did you think of the book?

I suppose it means you have an easier and less stressful life in a sense as you are just keeping yourself to yourself and not giving out things about yourself or getting envolved with other peoples troubles etc x
Reply:being able to watch people and learn how they react to enviroments and each other. Use it as a learning experience. Also, you will have more time to get to know who you are and where you want to be in the future. You will not have to worry about "keeping up" with anyone. Be who you are and if that is a wall flower then use it to your advantage.

I want to and I was wondering if it was a good book. I also heard it was banned (???) and wanted to know if I can still buy it.

This is a great book from a teenage boy's perspective. The book is NOT banned, tho some school districts would like it to be. It deals with homosexuality, sexual abuse, drugs, etc...Nothing really offensive to me.

I don't think there's anything shocking in the book that some young adult readers wouldn't know or have heard about anyway. I enjoyed it immensely, because it deals with growing up as a teenager.

Watch 'Sixteen Candles', (the movie) the school party scene will show you exactly what a wallflower used to be,(watch the kids standing along the wall, pay close attention to their appearance).

has anyone read (well im sure some of you have read it) the perks of being a wallflower?

and if so, how was it?

i dont want to know what happens...

but how interesting is the book?

I read it after having it recommended it to me for about a year. I personally found it a little bit overrated. There's nothing technically wrong with it and it was an enjoyable book, but I don't think I was quite the right age for it. To give you an idea, I read it when I was 23 years old and I think someone about 5 years younger might have related better.

That being said, go a head and give it a read anyways, because it's always better to have had the experience and to know that you haven't missed out on something that could be really worthwhile. It isn't too complex and you should be able to finish it in a couple of days.
Reply:I definitely recommend the book. The voice of the narrator is so genuine and truthful that you will feel a real connection with Charlie. I loved it, it was just...beautiful I guess. I think I even cried during it but hey I like to appreciate books. ( :

Reply:yes.It was ok... It semed there was no plot and it just rambeled on about sex and drugs... I suppose the point was to address the issues of a teens life... But still it was missing something. And the ending was unsatisfactory- nothing answered!

I'm not really sure if the HIV awareness thing in the very back of the book really has anything to do with the book, but I could definitely be wrong.

but anyway, about the mental hospital. I'm not really sure about why it all happened after the whole thing with Sam.. but I'm sure you remember the part about his parents finding him naked, watching the tv without it being turned on and not being able to "snap him out" of it..?

do you remember the dream he had about his aunt helen? when he was doing those things with sam, that's what caused him to have that dream about his aunt helen...and the dream was what caused him to realize that he was molested by his aunt helen when he was younger.

I'm not really sure if Sam has much to do with it.. but it might be because she's what caused him to have the dream which made him remember what happened. and also, since she's gone off now.. he doesn't have her to talk to and make things better. so it's like everything is just.. caving in all at once, you know?

and I don't think he really realizes what his aunt did until he's in the mental hospital..I think that just.. after he had the dream, he knows SOMETHING is wrong but he just doesn't know what.

All I know is that Ultra Maniac has 5 volumes. Just go to a bookstore and read them there! Quit being cheap and lazy!

Reply:I don't think The Wallflower is done (I don't keep up with the Japanese releases, so I wouldn't know). Fushigi Yugi has 18 volumes. Ultra Maniac has 5 volumes (a nice, short series). Rayearth has a total of 6 volumes (if you don't seperate part 1 and 2, which are three volumes each). I don't read scanlations so I have no clue where to read them for free online.

In the book THE PERKS OF BEING A WALLFLOWER what does the popem mean the one charlie reads to patrick?
Well all poems are open to interpretation but in my opinion this one is about the loss of innocence. It sort of follows the theme of the book about how things are great when you're young but as you get older you begin to realize how sadistic the world can be and how cruel the people in it are and that sometimes there is nothing you can do to stop it. You just have to find a way to deal with it. When such innocence is loss it's difficult to be able to comprehend what the world is really like and how things will always change, sometimes for the worst. There isn't always something you can do to stop this change and whether we like it or not that's how it will always be. The boy in the poem in the poem does not like these changes, but he feels there is nothing he can do and so he conforms to it, unwillingly. He does not see any other options to escape this, he does NOT want it, and so he decides to kill himself. Such is life.

It is a meaningful poem, and the book is absolutely great. I hope this helps.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by a project... Essay? or something more creative? Well, you could make your own mix tape with songs that make you feel "infinite". Another option is that you could write a letter from "Friend" as a general response to Charlie's last letter and all the ones preceding it.
Reply:Make a movie poster casting each one of the characters as a modern actor, make a "newspaper"/newsletter depicting scenes from the novel, write a poem based on the novel, create a power point presentation based on the novel, visually depict on a poster important quotes from the novel with pictures, write a book review.

Reply:Such A Pretty Girl by Laure Weiss is also good. It's about molestation though, just a warning. There's no graphic scenes, but it's talking about her traumatic experience of getting raped and he happened to be someone that you trusted more than anyone else. Someone that was your best friend and cared about you or so you thought. Because when that someone happens to be her father, she basically just loses faith in everything. It's really quite interesting.

Such A Pretty Girl is more similar to The Perks Of Being A Wall Flower. Laura Wiess has written a dark psychological suspense that draws you in and keeps you hooked.

Just Listen is similar in some aspects such as the plot and such, but the writing style is totally different.

The Truth About Forever just captures you in a way that can't be discribed. The title is a vague but accurate discription of the book.

I've read the perks of being a wallflower numerous times, and I never quite understood what happened to his aunt helen, I know she died, but what happened to her?

She died in a car accident when he was six years old.
Reply:I'm fairly certain that this is the aunt, in the end, that Charlie remembers molesting him. Which is what terrified him when Sam first tried to get close to him, and the reason he had to go through years of counselling afterwards.

Reply:Yes! You are right. He's trying not to think of what she really did to him...recall that at first Charlie speaks of her as if he loves her, as if she is the perfect Aunt. It seems as if she buys him two gifts to make up for it and keep him quiet. He has a tendency to retreat from reality a lot, and as you said, he is quite emotional and depressed because he wants to block the truth out. Only until he and Sam engage intimately do his repressed memories of his aunt surface.

one of my favorites, i just love the whole book

its so relatable

although i did have to read the ending twice

and i still dident understand

until my friend explained it to me :P

its a little complicated to understand, and put together all the pieces

but its cool, and worth it

i just remembered i like the whole "we were infinite" concept

whenever im on a roller coaster or sticking my head out of the car window, i keep thinking about that line

and how good it feels to just feel infinite :)

That is an awesome story! If you liked that book I would highly recommend reading "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson! This is another coming of age story that involves a girl that was raped.

A person who is shy or timid to the point it inhibits them from participating in activities which could possibly draw attention to them. Being on the inner where everybody else is can be a scary concept. Remaing outside or 'close to the wall' is easier then taking the risk of being on the inside in the spotlight. Some people want to be wallflowers %26amp; some people don't however the ones that don't, don't have the confidence in themselves to take the chance.. so a lot of the time they end up watching others have fun while they watch from a distance.

You'd probably like "Hairstyles of the Damned" and "The Boy Detective Fails," both by Joe Meno, "Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs" by Chuck Klosterman, or "The Virgin Suicides" by Jeffery Eugenides.

Of all of those, I'd personally recommend "Hairstyles of the Damned" first.

Reply:The only one I have read is "Twilight" but I have heard the others are really good as well. "Twilight" doesn't take very long to read (though there are a lot of pages) because if it really pulls you in, you can't put it down. I haven't heard of anyone that has read it that hasn't really loved it (though I'm sure there are some out there). But in general, it's a great book and I highly recommend it.

A Facade of Emotions

Leading to Disapointment

I hated you for being the person you’re not.

Cheap illusions for cheaper thrills.

Crying alone on the dark of my emotion.

I want you to rebuke me, tell me to be strong.

But as usual you have people to impress.

I become a wallflower.

You said it was forever,

But best friends are the narcotic of your life.

I try to pretend it never happened,

Pretend it was different.

But all roads lead to six gleaming cylinders.

I would like to read a good fiction novel. Not big on romance, love books that make you think. Dark novels, inner struggles, emotional. Witty writing.

Reply:Read the Sword of Truth books by Terry Goodkind - I am reading them and the second book that has 979 pages i read in two days - AND STILL SLEPT!!!!!!! It is extremely complicated to explain the series out to you but it is like a puzzle that never stops and just when you think that you have found the missing piece of the puzzle - he finds a different and more exciting piece that leads to the next part of the story!!!! I would give Terry Goodkind's books an 100 out of 5 stars, that's how good his books are!!!!!

These books are modern day fables that easily rival "The Good Samaritan" for morality. Another great book is "The Curious Incident Of The Dog In The Night-time" by Mark Haddon. This book is a brilliant story that will touch you and teach you things you didnt know but take for granted. Also Yann Martels "Life Of Pi" is a superb book about a boy lost at sea with a man eating tiger. It will challenge many of your preconceptions on nature and pretty much anything else. One more is the non-fiction book "A Child Called It" by Dave Pelzer. This book is about the systematic abuse of a young boy by his mother from 4 - 12 years old. This book made me cry no end as I read the horrific things he endured and had to do himself just to survive.

It seems that in my efforts to socialise (by this I mean timidly be a wallflower) It seems that I cannot percieve as being equal to others somehow. It's like I don't know how to be myself. I realise that I have self-esteem issues to work out; they are going well and I do see myself as an able human being. However I just don't feel connected with the human race at all; it's like I can't just accept that I'm just like everyone else. I just feel... disconnected. I would give anything to be able to meet people and accept them, but either I end up with them judging me negatively or I judge them negatively...patience is not one of my strong suits. I'm struggling with some form of anger that I cannot describe when it comes to past experiences as well... namely creul things people have said/done to me over the years. What is this I'm feeling?... this doesn't seem quite right.

Can someone explain this type of mindset to me?
It sounds so familiar to me, your situation. I empathize with you on most points. For most of my years, I've felt like an outsider looking through a window at the world, and it sounds like you feel the same way!

What I have learned though, is that a great number of people feel the same as we do. I spent years looking at others and saw confident, strong people who seemed to breeze through school, excel at their jobs and relationships. Some folks are better at presenting themselves to the human race than others are, and that's the secret. If you practice being the person you'd like to become, then it will become a habit, so to speak. If you smile and greet others with eye contact, walk tall, and give off an air of confidence, then you'll learn those traits... and soon they'll become second nature to you. Remember, if you do something for two weeks, it can become a habit!

About the cruel things that have been said/done to you in the past: I'd much rather befriend the type of person cruel things are said *about*, than know the person who said them in the first place. That tells me you have substance. A person who treats others cruelly is shallow and afraid.

Now, get out there and start living!!

Reply:I know exactly how you feel. I was like that for years. People say crap to you, and it gets to you. You hear people say, "Oh, just ignore it," or "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can never hurt me". That's a bunch of crap. More like, "It's almost impossible to ignore it," and "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will break the spirit." I still find myself like that sometimes. I went over to a friends house, and another girl, even one of my friends, came by, and I retreated to sit by myself and get on the internet, or stay with her brother. I barely even notice it, but I feel as if I can't do anything about it. I can't be the same as them.

I've also been affected in other ways. During Easter, we were having a family Easter Egg Hunt, and I couldn't even pick up the egg in front of my family because I was thinking of how they could make fun of me, even though I knew they wouldn't.

My advice is to just find at least one person, whether they like you a lot, or will just tolerate you, and stay with them. They'll grow on you. But I can't promise you'll be the same as everyone else.

That also makes us stronger, though, because we know what real pain is.
Reply:i think that you have been hurt very badly in your past, and you have difficulty trusting others (understandably so). the hurt that you have not gotten over has impacted your self image. it has also blocked your ability to really relax and let people in...in some ways, this has worked well for you because it has protected you. now, it sounds like you are ready to break out of this mindset and open up to others. this will take time. be patient. the first thing you must do is to work through the cruel things that have been done to you by letting yourself really feel the pain and hurt, then releasing the anger and resentment. these two negative emotions are holding you back. you know this. that is why you're posting this question, and you are really ready to move beyond it. you are very normal for feeling the way that you do. i would suggest finding a good counselor or just working through it on your own with some good books regarding abuse (childhood or adult). i think you have been emotionally and maybe physically abused. but you know what? you have a good head on your shoulders, and you are going to be just fine.
Reply:the disconnected feeling is how i feel often. from what i know it is caused by depression and probably some other things as well. anger can also be a symptom of depression, depression can be result of painful past experiences that need healing. seek professional help if you can and stay positive with yourself.

My Sister's Keeper by Jodi Picoult asks some interesting moral questions and should get you thinking.

As someone else said, The Color Purple is a wonderful novel and Possessing the Secret of Joy which goes into more detail about one of the characters in another that asks some interesting moral questions.

How about something like On The Road by Jack Kerouac? I found him to be extremely offensive, particularly about women but it is worth a read.

i'm looking for a good book to start cause i just finished reading the dive from clausen's pier. i really like books that are either coming of age stories, about relationships, or about substance abuse issues...

some examples of my favorites are smashed, the saving graces, speak, the perks of being a wallflower (those are just some of them...)

but can anyone recommend any books similar to those or ones that you think are worth reading? i'm an english major and i love to read, but i'm kind of looking for some guilty pleasure books haha.

"The Eyre Affair" and the rest of the Thursday Next books by Jasper Fforde (Brain candy for lit geeks. If you like sci-fi, it's fun; if you'd just like to see a world in which books rule instead of TV and movies, it's great. It's especially good if you ever wanted to have a pet dodo.)

"Catcher In The Rye". To be honest I didnt read either of the other books. I loved "Catcher..." for the honesty of tone throughout and how Salinger captured that stage of life where we realise that life further on would involve either succumbing to hypocrisy and following the "system" , being a deppresive goth who only blames others or being someone who forges his own path alone. The last is not spoken out but really hinted at.

Reply:"The Probable Future" by Alice Hoffman. It beautifully depicts the was a family situation can affect your whole life. While it does have some fantasy aspects (the three main women get powers on their 13th birthday---one can detect lies, one can see other's dreams, and one can see how people are going to die), it develops the characters well while still having a plot. The way it was written was beautiful, I cried several times.

Even though many of the literati world might label “The Grapes of Wrath” or “East of Eden” as his best novels I would say “Tortilla Flat”, “Cannery Row” or “Sweet Thursday” was. I say this only because of there comedic tones. Many authors write the drama and it’s exactly that; a drama. But the few great ones can write the drama and have you smile or laugh while reading it. I think it takes some intelligence in order to make somebody to laugh.

On Amazon.com, only volumes 1 and 2 of the ANIME are currently available, while only volumes 1-16 of the MANGA are currently available. Now, I know that 19 volumes of the manga have been written, and that it is still ongoing, while the anime series had 25 episodes. So, where are the other volumes? Have they not been released in the U.S. yet? I'm a huge fan, so if anyone has any knowledge, please share it with me! Thanks! -Gabby

***Da Capo***

This is about a girl who is adopted into this family and she is in love with her brother. There are 2 seasons with 26 eps in each one.

****Hana Yori Dango (Boys Over Flowers)****

This anime is about a poor girl in a rich school. She stands up to this group of pp called the F4 who are very popular to the extent that they basically own the school. They put a red card in her locker basically saying she is an enemy. Then the whole school goes against her and her good friend can't even hangout with her. Most pp who get this treatment leave the school but she doesn't. The story is mostly about her and the leader of the F4 and their love. It is about how they go through struggles and how she won't say her feelings. I liked this one a lot. There are 51 episodes.

****Marmalade Boy****

This one is about a girl whose parents both remarry to this guys parents (her mom marries his dad, her dad marries his mom) and they all live in one house. There are 76 ep. It is all about the love between the girl+guy. There are many other pp making many love triangles.

***Romeo+Juliet***(eps are still coming out)

This is a story of romeo+juliet falling in love but things are different in this story. Romeo's father owes the floating city they live in and Juliet is the last Capulet.

This is about a girl who uses magic and her good friend. It is about the girl trying to win this competition to be the wife of this magic prince. The girl is really in love with this boy from her school. It is also about her best friend being in love with this other guy. There are 26 episodes.

**Mermaid Melody**

This is about a girl who is a mermaid and her trying to tell the guy she is in love with that she is one. If she goes out and says she is one, then she will turn into bubbles. It is also about her and her friends fighting other creatures. There are 52 episodes.

***DN Angel***

This is about a boy who has a famous thief named Dark who is basically appart of him. Whenever the boy looks into a picture of a certain girl he transforms into Dark. Dark steals art work to seal away evil things inside it. This anime is also about the main boy being in love with this girl. There are 26 episodes.

****Kodocha****(I like this one a lot but it is about two kids)

This anime is about a energetic girl who is a famous child actress. It is about how she stands up to this boy in her class, helps him fix some issues he has, and how she falls in love with him. Her mother is very funny. This was one of the first anime I saw and it is one of my favorites. There are 102 episodes.

1. ouran high school host club, its kinda similar to yamato nadeshiko schichi henge, in a way, where one girl is surrounded by a few guys- a reverse harem. this wud be my fav one i wud hav 2 say, so definately give it ago.

2. La corda d'oro, a reverse harem agen, personally i think the guys in it r quite hot lol, so check it out. its bout music/ musical instruments, but trust me it doesn't sound as boring as that, i first thought it'd b boring, but no! lol. not all the subs r out yet, its only up to ep 18 and the whole series has 25 eps, but still i think its relli gd so far.

3. fruits basket, sorry but i haven't actually watched it yet, but a lot of people hav recommended this to me.

none of my friends go to my school, and at my school im pretty quiet...not shy. there is a difference there, i prefer to be less talkative so it doesnt mean im scared of people. i have like two friends i'd probably go up to and start talking with

this school is very small so everyone just thinks im a freak loner. people are so mean they wont even look up and smile they just look the other way. people who i thought were trying to befriend me there wouldnt look at me when passing in the hall or wouldn't say hi :( ive been here for 2 months and i havn't done anything with friends outside of school! :(:(

im not ugly, as far as i know, im normal sized, maybe a little tall, and personally i really like my hair :) so whats the ******* deal? ive tried making convos with people but they never talk to me again! if they just tried to get to know me they'd be surprised that im really interesting. im in classes two years ahead of my grade so are they intimidated??

There's something I learned about in college called the self-confirming prophesy. Thinking people don't want to talk to you first causes you to believe every little thing they do is in relation to them not wanting to talk to you. And then because you feel like they don't want to talk to you you may become more avoidant or hostile. And, because you become more avoidant people begin to believe that you don't want to talk to them. And, because they feel you don't really want to talk to them, they don't try to act like they want to talk to you. And, because they don't try to act like they want to talk to you, you believe they don't want to talk to you, and the whole cycle starts again.

So, what you need to do is not give up on people. You can be the one to start up a conversation the second time and say hi in the hallways. You know you are interesting, and it is only time until others realize this as well. You may not become best friends with everybody you meet, but there have got to be some connections if you don't give up easily on the people you think you would like to know (and maybe some others who you may not even consider at first)

The main thing is confidence. Don't let a look or lack-there-of bring you down. We all have troubled, awkward, and nervous moments meeting and getting to know people. You know you're awesome, and don't allow little signals you think you get change your opinion- the signals may mean something different than you think.

Reply:Try to wear things that might hint a little bit at who you are... like shirts or accessories with symbols, band names or slogans on them... It might get people interested who have similar interests :)

Well, you sound like a very decent person. I don't believe the kids are intimidated by you, however, they might not think it's "cool" to talk to someone not in their clique.

I know what it feels like to be a loner because I've been to three different schools. It was really nerve racking, but I always make some good friends.

I guess you just have to deal with it for now.

Ten years from now, what they think of you won't matter one bit and you'll have no reason to care. All that does matter is that you are a kind, intelligent, and wonderful person.

Hopefully things will eventually get better and you will met people who are a caring and friendly as you are.

It means you're a good looking observer.

I never understood what that meant either until I was at a party standing against a wall just chilling, watching stuff go down. Then my buddy came up to me, stood next to me and said, we are so wallflowers. It's just someone that looks good just watching things go down.

in the manga, sunako takes the math test and takenaga tells her that she might have gotten 100%. kyouhei acts like he is about to kill her, and sunako says "i feel like i forgot something important..." (probably referring to her kiss with kyouhei) and her homeroom teacher says "Nakahara, you got all the right answers, but why did you put them in the wrong spaces?"

i want to know if she got 100 or if she failed cuz of putting them in the wrong spaces in her answer sheet!!! thanks!!!

Tonight I went to my mom's friends' 25th anniversary. Most of the people there were over the hill, but there were a few people my age, including a guy. Let's call him Ed. Now I've known Ed for a long time, since I became a teen. I remember one day I went on a snowboarding trip with a group of friends, and he was there. While everyone was gone to the hills, he started talking to me, like you know, "what's up?" and smiling and I guess I responded rudely, like "nothing" and he just walked away. That was like 4 years ago almost. And everytime I saw him after that, he would ignore me, and I would ignore him. Today I saw him again, and he was with his two girl friends at the door. I had just gone for a jog by myself, and was red in the face. Hi I said, barely catching my breath to them, but only one of the girls said hi back. He looked at me without even saying anything back. He makes me so mad! I feel like crying. And I mean it also hurts cause I know I must send off bad vibes or something

You've answered your own question, and probably have to face the fact that you seem to have a need to fix this thing. So? Go fix it! You'll probably have to wound your own pride, but maybe if you're lucky he'll let you apologize. It's not like you've got to fall in love, but this seems to bother you, so go make it right. Oh and by the way I've done these things myself, I've got a big mouth(got to to fit both feet), and do get myself in trouble so I've gotten good at swallowing my pride and apologizing when I've done wrong. I'm not great at it, but improving.

Manga is better definitely, the anime is good too but in the manga you have so much more events and stuff. And you can really feel the romance between the two better than in the anime. Its also a lot funnier!

I just want to know if it'll get any better. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's bad.. It's just going along kind of slow. Though I am only on the 2nd episode... : P I will probably watch it either way, but I'm just wondering if you think I'll like it as much as I liked Ouran High School Host Club. (Which I LOVED!)

Reply:I tried to watch it. I really did. But the constant nosebleeds, all the skeletons, the humongous lips, the flat characters...it all got to me after a while. I made it through about 10 episodes before giving up.

And I absolutely LOVED Ouran High School Host Club. There are similarities, but this one is just...I don't know, it didn't do it for me.
Reply:i'm sorry, but The Wallflower can't even be compared to Ouran High School host club (damn, that was hilarious!).. The story is really interesting, what with all the nosebleeds and horror-gore (haha), but the art is really sketchy and untidy, compared to ouran, which is beautifully polished. I'd suggest you read the Manga of wallflower, rather than watch it. Although i think they will continue the series, you'd be more satisfied with the manga.

As far as I know, the anime has not ended and so as the manga. But I think the anime will most likely end open-ended and you won't see Sunako and Kyohei together and in fact the manga still doesn't show them as a couple but just still close friend/colleague at school. Sorry.

I am 28 years old and I am so funny and witty when I am with friends or family, but when I am with people I don't know I am mute. At parties or bars drinking doesn't help (even if it did, I wouldn't want to rely on it). I hate being fake or phony, I just want to be myself only not have anxiety when I am talking to strangers. Any advice?

Stomach churning isn't it, I have no advice that will help except that with practice and time it does get easier, it's the first initial conversation starter that is the hardest and you're right about not relying on drinking to help all that does is get you into situations that you would not normally be comfortable with sober.
Reply:It takes a lot to be your self when with others you don't know. Try joining a church and doing things with the youth group your age. Trying going to places where people you really want to meet are there. Try book stores and talk to someone who has your same interest. There are singles groups everywhere try them. Take a deep breath and just start talking. Go to local singles dances. You never know who could be right around the next corner and don't be afraid to start a conversation. It has worked for me. Now I'll talk to anyone. It is great. Good luck.
